Former Lockheed-Martin CEO examines impact of Hagler Institute
Keynote speaker at annual gala expresses concern over drop in US funding for research and higher education.
The Hagler Institute for Advanced Study officially inducted the 2019-20 class of Hagler Fellows and Distinguished Lecturers on February 28 at its eighth-annual black-tie gala, which was attended by nearly 300 Texas A&M University alumni, administrators, and faculty. In this video, keynote speaker Norman Augustine discusses the importance of the institute to Texas A&M and the United States as funding support decreases nationwide for basic research and higher education. Augustine is the former chair and CEO of Lockheed Martin and current chair of the Hagler Institute’s External Advisory Board.
