Yonggang Huang is Northwestern University’s Walter P. Murphy Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. Among his research endeavors are the mechanics of stretchable materials and additive manufacturing. He developed pliable circuits with potential use in wearable flexible sensors, microfluidic devices, and transmitters. Huang is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He holds the William Prager Medal from the Society of Engineering Science, the Gustus L. Larson Memorial Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Research Award for U.S. Scientists and Scholars from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Huang will collaborate with faculty and students in the College of Engineering.
