A pioneer in the use of zebrafish as toxicology models, Robyn Tanguay explores how to predict the damage that chemicals, nanomaterials and similar structures may inflict upon vertebrate development and function.

Her most recent research led to the development of automated high-throughput instrumentation and software to accelerate phenotyping and molecular responses to biological perturbations.

Tanguay received her doctorate in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside.

Honors include the Oregon State University James and Mildred Oldfield and E.R. Jackman Foundation Team Award; Pacific Northwest Association of Toxicologists Achievement Award; Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology Scientific Achievement Award; Society of Toxicology Mentoring Award; Toxicological Sciences Paper of the Year; the Roy G. Arnold Agricultural Research Foundation Leadership Award; the Oregon State University Agricultural Research Foundation Distinguished Faculty Award; and the Oregon State University Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring Award.

She has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles.

Tanguay will collaborate with faculty, researchers and students at Texas A&M University at Galveston.
